Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using MappedSongs (www.mappedsongs.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Description of Service

MappedSongs is a free, AI-powered music discovery tool. You click a location on a map, and MappedSongs recommends music that fits the vibe of that place based on nearby landmarks, weather, and cultural context. Music is played via YouTube embeds.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service to violate any laws or regulations.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API endpoints.
• Bypass rate limits, CSRF protections, or other security measures.
• Use automated tools to generate excessive requests to the service.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

Accounts

You may use MappedSongs without an account. If you sign in with Google, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We store only basic profile information (name, email, avatar) as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

• MappedSongs: The MappedSongs name, design, and original code are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.
• Music content: Songs are played via YouTube and are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. We do not host or distribute music files.
• Map data: Map tiles and geographic data are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL license.
• AI recommendations: Song suggestions are generated by AI and are provided as-is with no guarantee of accuracy or appropriateness.

Third-Party Services

MappedSongs relies on third-party services including Google (OAuth, AdSense), YouTube (music playback), OpenStreetMap (mapping), and Azure OpenAI (recommendations). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

Advertising

MappedSongs displays ads via Google AdSense to support the free service. You may choose between personalized and non-personalized ads via the cookie consent banner. Ad-blocking software may affect your experience but is not prohibited.

Disclaimer of Warranties

MappedSongs is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• AI-generated music recommendations will be accurate or suitable.
• Location data or weather information will be correct.
• YouTube content will remain available for any given track.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MappedSongs and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data or service interruptions.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to MappedSongs at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, you may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of MappedSongs after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
