What MappedSongs Does
MappedSongs plays music based on map locations. When you click a spot on the map, we look up nearby places, weather, and use AI to pick a song that fits the vibe.
Data We Collect
- Location clicks: The coordinates you click on the map. Cached for 24 hours (shared across all users) to speed up repeat lookups at the same spot. Not tied to your identity.
- Song history: What songs played and where. If you're logged in, history is saved to your account. If not, plays are recorded anonymously.
- Google account info: If you sign in with Google, we store your name, email, and profile picture. This is only used to identify your account and show your avatar.
- Track quality signals: When songs are played or skipped, we record aggregate counts per track (not per user) to improve future recommendations.
Cookies & Advertising
We use cookies for:
- Session management: Keeping you logged in and storing security tokens. These are essential and always active.
- Google AdSense: We display ads to keep MappedSongs free. If you accept personalized ads, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing history. If you choose basic ads only, we serve non-personalized contextual ads with no tracking cookies. You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings.
- Cookie consent: We store your consent preference in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so we don't ask again.

- You can sign out at any time — your session is cleared immediately.
